Hello, my name is Licensed Cosmetologist!

So, for the few of you who actually read this, I would like to inform you of how my past 2 months have gone and then there will be understanding as to why I have not posted.
Going back to June…I think is when my latest post was..?..anyways, that was the month one of my best friends got married. ~Did I mention I did her hair…and her mother’s hair and 3 of the bridesmaids hair…oh yes, and the grooms hair? 😉 Because I totally did, and it was fun. And HECTIC. But fun. ANYWHO! After that I took a 5 second breather from life, so to speak, and then started preparations for my cosmetology state board examinations!!! YAAAYYY!!! -_-
I will be honest…those exams suck. Like, I never, ever, ever, Ever, EVER, want to go through anything like those EVER, again. Really. It was single-handedly (however you spell it) THE most NERVEWRACKING experience in my entire life up to this point. There is So much you have to do. Not just come up with a crap ton of money to get supplies and pay for the exams (shout out to my dad by the way, withouT him, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this goal), but making sure you have all your supplies and have them in their proper baggies and EVERYTHING properly labeled and your kit packed strategically. You gotta make sure you do the services in the right steps, and you follow every rule you can possibly think of in the entire universe that could even remotely apply to this field. So, I super studied and unpacked and packed and repacked and super checked my kit over 9,000 times…I just want to say that when I was in that examination room…I never felt most UNLIKE myself. It was like this pathetic, whimpering, dumb baby replaced me…at least for the first few minutes. I was shaking so bad cuz I was SO nervious, I wanted to just curl up in the fetal position and cry like a small infant and then run as far away from that place as I could.
Obviously though, I didn’t do any of that…that’s just the best way I can describe my insides and such feeling. I put my big girl panties on and kicked that exams ass! 🙂 When I got done, I really did want to puke though. Haha. After that, the theory portion was next…and I was nervous because I’m not a fan of things when they are worded weird…and I had been told that they worded things weird for that exam. Truthfully, they were, but it was easy peasy! Long story not-so-short…I got my license!! Since having my license, which by the way it’s been technically 5 days now…I have had a first interview with a local salon-with the technical interview scheduled for next week, and a technical interview (had the first one like last month) with a salon a little farther away! I don’t know what will become of either of these ventures but I am looking up and very excited for my future. I want to thank my mom and dad for thoroughly supporting me through beauty school to the present moment and praying for me. I appreciate all you guys have done and I want to make you proud, I love you!!! I also want to thank my brother for all the support he has given me and I want to wish him all the best luck during his first year in college! I love you! Thanks to all my other friends and family who have also supported and helped me.

I think that is all for the night cuz now I need to get a decent amount of sleep tonight. Goodnight!

Except P.S: Fun fact #1- the day I got my license was the day one of my best friends passed her practicals! Good luck to her tomorrow on the written! (Even though she’s super brainy and gots this in the bag!)

Fun fact #2: I wasn’t having a great day today really, but I stopped off at Sallys on my way home from work (the girl, and ladies there are so sweet by the way), to get some hair color and nail clippers, when the girl asked for my “sallys card” I handed her my student card that I’ve had for FOREVER..and she takes it and then looks at me and is like “YOU GET TO LEVEL UP!” ( she knows I recently got my license…does this give a hint to how often I go there? haha) so I got to get my new sallies card as a professional cosmetologist!! 🙂 THAT made my day.

But for realz. Goodnight now! (=

  1. Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s Morning Devotion:
    Proverbs 11:25
He that watereth shall be watered also himself.

We are here taught the great lesson, that to get, we must give; that to accumulate, we must scatter; that to make ourselves happy, we must make others happy; and that in order to become spiritually vigorous, we must seek the spiritual good of others. In watering others, we are ourselves watered. How? Our efforts to be useful, bring out our powers for usefulness. We have latent talents and dormant faculties, which are brought to light by exercise. Our strength for labour is hidden even from ourselves, until we venture forth to fight the Lord’s battles, or to climb the mountains of difficulty. We do not know what tender sympathies we possess until we try to dry the widow’s tears, and soothe the orphan’s grief. We often find in attempting to teach others, that we gain instruction for ourselves. Oh, what gracious lessons some of us have learned at sick beds! We went to teach the Scriptures, we came away blushing that we knew so little of them. In our converse with poor saints, we are taught the way of God more perfectly for ourselves and get a deeper insight into divine truth. So that watering others makes us humble. We discover how much grace there is where we had not looked for it; and how much the poor saint may outstrip us in knowledge. Our own comfort is also increased by our working for others. We endeavour to cheer them, and the consolation gladdens our own heart. Like the two men in the snow; one chafed the other’s limbs to keep him from dying, and in so doing kept his own blood in circulation, and saved his own life. The poor widow of Sarepta gave from her scanty store a supply for the prophet’s wants, and from that day she never again knew what want was. Give then, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and running over.

Thank you God in the name of Jesus, by His Spirit.
